Shade Operation
Motorization
Motorized operation offers the ultimate in convenience for windows of any size. Through the touch of a button, switch or computer command, CONRAD Roman shades are effortlessly positioned at any height. We offer a wide range of state-of-the-art motorization options, and work together with you to simplify and customize a plan meeting your project’s requirements.
CONRAD offers both line-voltage and low-voltage motors, which can either be hardwired or plugged into any standard 3-prong outlet. A variety of controls and interfaces are available, including remote controls, wall switches, sun controls, timers and other options. Motorized Roman shades can be integrated with your clients’ home automation system. Shades can be programmed to operate independently and/or simultaneously.
Generally, each shade requires its own motor, housed behind the shade in an aluminum tube mounted to the underside of the headerboard. Optional faux, front and/or reverse valances recommended to reduce visibility of motor tube unless pockets, soffits or other structural/decorative concealing elements exist or are intended.
If shade projection is a concern, optional front-operation with motorization can help minimize the space between the window and the shade. The shade waterfalls from the back of headerboard, putting it closer to the glass. An optional unlined or lined front valance is recommended to conceal the visibility of motor tube unless the shade is to be installed in a pocket, behind a soffit, cornice or other window treatment.
